Our regulation for marine events within the Los Angeles-Long Beach Captain of the Port Zone identifies the regulated area for this event in Long Beach, CA to Santa Catalina Island, CA. This action is being taken to provide for the safety of life on navigable waterways during this event. Our regulation for marine events within the Los Angeles-Long Beach Captain of the Port Zone, Table 1 to § 100.1104, item number 17, specifies the location of the regulated area for the Catalina Ski Race which encompasses portions of San Pedro Bay. During the enforcement periods, § 100.1104 requires operators of a vessel in the regulated area must comply with directions from the Patrol Commander or any Official Patrol displaying a Coast Guard ensign.
