<RULE> POSTAL SERVICE <CFR>39 CFR Part 111</CFR> <SUBJECT>Claims Filing Date for Insured Mail</SUBJECT> <HD SOURCE="HED">AGENCY:</HD> Postal Service. <HD SOURCE="HED">ACTION:</HD> Final rule. <SUM> <HD SOURCE="HED">SUMMARY:</HD> The Postal Service is amending the <E T="03">Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service,</E> Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) subsection 609.1.4 to change the claims filing date for insured mail. </SUM> <EFFDATE> <HD SOURCE="HED">DATES:</HD> <E T="03">Effective Date:</E> January 18, 2026. </EFFDATE> <FURINF> <HD SOURCE="HED">FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT:</HD> Abdul Bah at (314) 452-2844 or Garry Rodriguez at (202) 268-7281. </FURINF> <SUPLINF> <HD SOURCE="HED">SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:</HD> On November 26, 2025, the Postal Service published a notice of proposed rulemaking (90 FR 54247-54248) to change the claims filing date for insured mail. The Postal Service did not receive any formal comments. The Postal Service is re-establishing the “No Sooner Than” filing date of 15 days for filing insured mail claims to re-align the filing thresholds with other mail service and bulk claims. The Postal Service adopts the described changes to <E T="03">Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service,</E> Domestic Mail Manual (DMM), incorporated by reference in the <E T="03">Code of Federal Regulations.</E> We will publish an appropriate amendment to 39 CFR part 111 to reflect these changes. <LSTSUB> <HD SOURCE="HED">List of Subjects in 39 CFR Part 111</HD> Administrative practice and procedure, Postal Service. </LSTSUB> Accordingly, the Postal Service amends <E T="03">Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service,</E> Domestic Mail Manual (DMM), incorporated by reference in the Code of Federal Regulations as follows (see 39 CFR 111.1): <HD SOURCE="HED">PART 111—GENERAL INFORMATION ON POSTAL SERVICE</HD> <REGTEXT TITLE="39" PART="111"> 1.
